Ten CGGE Members turned out terrific examples of what makes opposites attract for the June Challenge.
Congratulations go to Dawn Montgomery for her winning entry, “Hot and Cold”.
Dawn starting working in the glass medium in 2003 primarily in stained and fused glass. She works out of her home studio in Jacksonville, Florida. Dawn finds inspiration from her daily life. "Sometimes it's a bird landing outside my window, or sometimes it's a walk on the beach. My children also love to give me ideas. One daughter was studying Earth Day at school so I created a "recycle" pendant. Another daughter came up to me after her piano lesson and asked me to make her a music notes pendant. I finally started keeping a notepad with me to write down my ideas as I think of them." In five years Dawn sees herself being challenged by new techniques and new ideas that she would like to try. Also, having a business that is going strong and that she's had the chance to experiment and continue to grow in her art.
