April Challenge

Can you feel it?
Spring is in the air!
The flowers are blooming and the birds are singing.
New life is coming out of winter hibernation and is everywhere you look.
Step out your front door or gaze out you windows to find inspiration for this months CGGE challenge – “Spring is in the Air”.

The contest begins April 1st and ends promptly at 11:59 PM on April 25th.
Each member may submit one entry only in stained, fused, lampworked or mosaic glass.
The entry must be listed in your Etsy shop.
All entries are to be posted to the CGGE Challenge Group site on Flickr.
Voting will be open to all Etsy members and the winner of the challenge will be featured on our CGGE Home Page.

March Challenge Winner....

"We love our animals – they hold a special magic for us" was the theme for CGGE’s March Challenge and JSGlassArt is this month’s winner with her wonderful plate entitled "Wild Safari". This unique piece of glass art illustrates the beauty and mystery of the African plains where zebra, lions, tigers and monkeys roam wild and free.

JSGlassArt has been a glass artist for 10 years. Having started out working in stained glass, she became fascinated with fused glass and now works in both mediums. She has been a winner in past CGGE challenges and contests. CGGE March Challenge!

We love our animals – they hold a special magic for us. Whether it is our cats or dogs or an undomesticated animal found in or out of a zoo, we seem to be drawn to animals. What child doesn’t love the elephants or giraffes? Who isn’t amazed and awed when they see a deer or raccoon or other wild animal in their yard. Who doesn’t love to watch the squirrels and their antics. Our pets make us laugh and cry, bring us joy and comfort, help us to relax and be silly and give us their unconditional love. They are members of our families and they give us memories which last a lifetime. With all this in mind, the CGGE’s Challenge for the month of March is “Animal Magic”.

The challenge contest begins March 1st and ends promptly at midnight March 25th. Each CGGE member may submit one entry only in stained, fused, lampworked or mosaic glass. The entry must be listed for sale in your Etsy shop. All entries are to be posted to the CGGE Challenge Group site on Flickr.

Voting will be open to all Etsy and Flickr members and the winner of the challenge will be featured on our CGGE Home Page.

So CGGE artists, put your thinking caps on again and let the world know what “Animal Magic” means to you.
