July Challenge--Pick your favorite item in your shop!

CGGE July Challenge

For this challenge you can submit your favorite item in your shop.
This may perhaps seem like a simpler challenge than others that we have set over the past months, but actually it could turn out to be the most difficult. Choosing your favorite item in your shop from all the lovely things that we know our members have made could take some doing! A bit like choosing between chocolate and cake.

The contest begins July 1st and ends promptly at 11:59 PM EST on the 25th of July.

Each member may submit one entry and you can use any form of technique as long as the item is made primarily in glass.
We have members who create stained, fused, lampworked or mosaic glass pieces, and we usually have a wide variety of entries to make voting all the more difficult.

Obviously, your entry must be currently listed in your Etsy shop, and any entries are to be posted to the CGGE Challenge Group site on Flickr.
Of course, anything that you are currently making can be entered into this challenge, as long as you list it in your shop before posting it to the Flickr page.

Voting will be open to all Etsy members and the winner of the challenge will be featured on our CGGE Home Page.

Good luck to you all!

June Winner: Congratulations go to Dawn Montgomery for her winning entry, “Hot and Cold”.

Ten CGGE Members turned out terrific examples of what makes opposites attract for the June Challenge.

Congratulations go to Dawn Montgomery for her winning entry, “Hot and Cold”.

Dawn starting working in the glass medium in 2003 primarily in stained and fused glass. She works out of her home studio in Jacksonville, Florida. Dawn finds inspiration from her daily life. "Sometimes it's a bird landing outside my window, or sometimes it's a walk on the beach. My children also love to give me ideas. One daughter was studying Earth Day at school so I created a "recycle" pendant. Another daughter came up to me after her piano lesson and asked me to make her a music notes pendant. I finally started keeping a notepad with me to write down my ideas as I think of them." In five years Dawn sees herself being challenged by new techniques and new ideas that she would like to try. Also, having a business that is going strong and that she's had the chance to experiment and continue to grow in her art.
